The Drop Bistro Happy Hour -Red Winetini

Happy Hour @ The Drop Bistro

We met after work at The Drop Bistro in KC with a Groupon I recently purchased on a whim. I wanted to try it, but I didn’t know they’d have this…

Using Our Groupon At The Drop Bistro In Kansas City

I purchased a Groupon for the Drop Bistro in Kansas City, so we went on a Tuesday Night to check out their appetizers. The Groupon was for two signature cocktails and a shared plate. “The Drop” is one of those places I’ve heard about several times but never been to, so I figured it was a good way to try it out. (FYI – You cannot combine Groupons with happy hour prices).

So Jay and I met there after work and immediately fell in love with the music and ambiance of the small, classy bar that felt like a swank lounge had somehow popped out of a time machine. We grabbed a tall table for two and checked out the menu. (FYI – Half of the Drop Bistro menu is drinks). You can also click here for a photo of the updated drink menu taken that night (although we did not take a photo of the updated food menu.)

When the waitress came to take our order, I told her about the Groupon, and so I chose the Bellini Martini (because I love Peach) while Jay ordered the Stormy Drop (because he loves Dark & Stormy and the funky taste of bitters). We also ordered the Butcher Block Platter (because we love to compare charcuterie and we love meat and cheese!) and that’s how we got the party started.

Everything was great, but we were still thirsty (and hungry) afterward, and we had also noticed their Tuesday Night Special “2 for 1 Signature Cocktails”. So I ordered the L & L Press, Jay got the Red Winetini and we ordered the “Board of Four” Bruschettas, with: 1) Goat Cheese, Fig & Pistachios, 2) Apples & Brie, 3) Salmon, Olive & Tomato, and 4) Spread Peas.

The L & L Press is the kind of champagne-based drink you can enjoy all night, and the Red Winetini is extremely unique. The bruschetta was totally incredible, and the clear favorite of the two orders of food (the Butcher Block was very good, but the tastes of the bruschetta were amazing!)

We could’ve gone for another round of drinks, but two is probably enough to enjoy a place and get a taste of what they have to offer. We also noted that some people were there on business, and some where there for pleasure. And that makes sense, because the Drop Bistro is perfect for both.

It’s official. We highly recommend the Drop Bistro. Great drinks and appetizers!
